The RMS Titanic was the largest ship in the world. RMS means “Royal Mail Ship”. Titanic means “huge, giant, and massive”. Its length was 269.1 metres and the ship used 825 tons of coal every day. There were 10.000 lamp bulbs on the ship; so, it was more like a star in the Atlantic Ocean. There were 840 rooms on the ship. 416 was for the First-Class passengers;162 was for Second Class passengers; and 262 was for the Third-Class passengers. Thomas Andrews designed this ship, and it was built up in Belfast, Ireland. On the ship, there were 10 decks, on which people danced, walked, talked and musicians played music. The ship had four funnels, but the fourth funnel was not working because it was built to make the ship seem more powerful and strong. The ship left Southampton on the night of April 14, 1912 to go to New York. This was her maiden voyage. People said that even God cannot sink this ship. Do you know about the tallest mountain in the world? Do you want to read about this mountain? Its name is Mountain Everest, which is in the border of Nepal and Tibet. It is known as the roof of the world because it is 8.848 meters tall. This mountain is extremely cold because the temperature is -62C on the top. So, if you don’t like extremely cold weather, don’t think to go there. Mount Everest is 60 million years old and it grows up 44 millimetres every year. Thousands of adventurers go there to climb up the Mountain Everest, but some climbers can’t climb because when you go to the top of the roof, the oxygen reduces and then either you die, or you turn back. The first climbers are Sir Edmund Hillary and Tenzing Norgay. These people climbed in 1953. Sir Edmund Hillary was from New Zealand. However, Tenzing was a Sherpa, who carried ropes and all the tents before climbers. Do you know about the deepest hole in the world? Its name is Mariana Trench, which is found in the western Pacific Ocean. Its depth is 10,984 metres . Mariana Trench is taller than Mountain Everest in India, which is 8,844 metres. Can you imagine? It is unbelievable. It is scary, too. Because there can live a Megalodon.             In the world, only two men went into this hole in 1960. Jacques Piccard and Don Walsh descended this hole and they stayed on the bottom for 20 minutes. However, when they went down, they did not have cameras, so they did not take photographs.  In 2012, James Cameron , who is a Canadian explorer and filmmaker, descended the Mariana Trench and stayed on the bottom for a long time. He explored the hole and took photographs. The Ruler of the Seas Leviathan  is the other name of Livyatan. It is a prehistoric whale which lived 13 million years ago. It was the ruler of the seas. Livyatan was as strong as Megalodon and Mosasaurus. It weighed as much as 50 tons. It was a huge sea monster. It was the largest predatory whale. Livyatan had the longest teeth among the sea animals. It ate the giant  baleen whales, smaller whales, seals, sharks, and dolphins.   However, this sea monster went extinct because of food drop such as whales or seals.   Do you know about sharks? If you don’t know, listen to me now. Their characteristics: They eat fish, birds, turtles, and rubbish and everything in the sea. They have a lot of sharp teeth and they don’t brush their teeth. They live until they are 100 years old. They don’t see colours very well. They are big sea animals and grow up like a school bus.    Megalodon and Mosasaurus: Can a megalodon eat a Titanic? Some sharks are big, but megalodon is a huge shark. There is not a bigger shark than megalodon, because megalodon is the largest one. People saw a megalodon in the Mariana hole. However, you cannot see it in the sea. So, don’t be scared of a shark in the sea when you are swimming. Also, don’t be afraid of a megalodon because it is dead now. A tsunami killed this kind of shark.   Eymen and his new school   I’m Eymen Erdem. I am nine and I am studying in 2/B. This year I am going to Erenler Schools, which has a big canteen and a lovely playground. There are hundreds of children; they are very good boys and girls. I have great teachers, who teach everyone very well. There are twenty-four children in my classroom. I love all my friends, but my favourite friend is Feride, who always makes very good things and helps me. She is very helpful girl. Our classroom teacher is Musa B….., he is very comic person. When we are in online lesson, my teacher makes jokes and he gives us nicknames, onion for me, coconut for Feride 😊 His hair is brown and his eyes are blue. He is very cool.
