THE UNSINKABLE SHIP

The RMS Titanic was the largest ship in the world. RMS means “Royal Mail Ship”. Titanic means “huge, giant, and massive”. Its length was 269.1 metres and the ship used 825 tons of coal every day. There were 10.000 lamp bulbs on the ship; so, it was more like a star in the Atlantic Ocean.


There were 840 rooms on the ship. 416 was for the First-Class passengers;162 was for Second Class passengers; and 262 was for the Third-Class passengers. Thomas Andrews designed this ship, and it was built up in Belfast, Ireland. On the ship, there were 10 decks, on which people danced, walked, talked and musicians played music. The ship had four funnels, but the fourth funnel was not working because it was built to make the ship seem more powerful and strong.


The ship left Southampton on the night of April 14, 1912 to go to New York. This was her maiden voyage. People said that even God cannot sink this ship. However, on the morning of April 15, the RMS Titanic disappeared. The unsinkable ship sank. When the front of the ship went down, it was broken in its half (this is known as Torpedo) and the back of the ship stood up, people fell into the cold water of the ocean and the ship sank in 2 hours 40 minutes.



There were 2,240 passengers and crew on board when the Titanic started her maiden voyage. A lot of people died in this disaster. More than 1,500 people died because of this shipwreck. There were 59 children who died, too. Most people went down into the cold depth of the Atlantic Ocean. Almost 700 people survived in this disaster.


Do you think sharks ate the passengers on the ship? The answer is, of course, No! Sharks did not eat or bite the people in the water because sharks don’t like extremely cold water.

Do you know about sharks?

  Do you know about sharks? If you don’t know, listen to me now. Their characteristics: They eat fish, birds, turtles, and rubbish and everything in the sea. They have a lot of sharp teeth and they don’t brush their teeth. They live until they are 100 years old. They don’t see colours very well. They are big sea animals and grow up like a school bus.    Megalodon and Mosasaurus: Can a megalodon eat a Titanic? Some sharks are big, but megalodon is a huge shark. Ody and Rico

  Ody and Rico Ody and Rico are my birds. Ody is green and black and yellow and blue. Rico is white and blue. Ody is is a fat bird but not too fat. Rico is very good because he eats too much. Eymen and Lego City I love legos. They are my favourite toys.   Because I am building cars, submarines, cars, caravans, motorbikes, spacecraft and helicopters and planes. Eymen and his new school

  Eymen and his new school   I’m Eymen Erdem. I am nine and I am studying in 2/B. This year I am going to Erenler Schools, which has a big canteen and a lovely playground. There are hundreds of children; they are very good boys and girls. I have great teachers, who teach everyone very well. There are twenty-four children in my classroom. The deepest hole in the world

Do you know about the deepest hole in the world? Its name is Mariana Trench, which is found in the western Pacific Ocean. Its depth is 10,984 metres . Mariana Trench is taller than Mountain Everest in India, which is 8,844 metres. Can you imagine? It is unbelievable. It is scary, too. Because there can live a Megalodon.             In the world, only two men went into this hole in 1960. Jacques Piccard and Don Walsh descended this hole and they stayed on the bottom for 20 minutes. Do you know about the tallest mountain in the world? Do you want to read about this mountain? Its name is Mountain Everest, which is in the border of Nepal and Tibet. It is known as the roof of the world because it is 8.848 meters tall. This mountain is extremely cold because the temperature is -62C on the top. So, if you don’t like extremely cold weather, don’t think to go there. Mount Everest is 60 million years old and it grows up 44 millimetres every year. Thousands of adventurers go there to climb up the Mountain Everest, but some climbers can’t climb because when you go to the top of the roof, the oxygen reduces and then either you die, or you turn back.
